About ASM

A team of volunteers working to protect and promote the Indian way of life rooted in the Vedas.

Who we are

Aram Valartha Naayaki Sevai Maiyam (ASM) is a public charitable trust established in Chennai in 2015. Our volunteers are inspired, motivated and trained by Pujya Swami Dayananda Saraswathi.

At the heart of our tradition is the understanding that everything in the universe is connected. Living by this way of life means living in harmony with the environment, with other people and with every creature. Protecting it is what our work is about.

We work through temples, because for centuries the temple has been where a community gathered, learned, celebrated and looked after its own.

Our mission

To reclaim and restore our Bharatheeya way of life by helping Bharatvasis practise our customs, rituals and festivals through our teachings.

Our vision

To secure and promote Bharat's dharmic ideals and uphold Dharma.

Our inspiration

Pujya Swami Dayananda Saraswathi taught Vedanta in India for more than five decades, and abroad from 1976. He addressed forums including UNESCO and the United Nations, and took part in the Millennium World Peace Summit.

His teaching that Dharma must be lived, not only studied, shapes everything ASM does.

Our mentor

Shri Manikandan is ASM's mentor and advisor. He has worked full-time in social service since 1991, and was guided directly by Swamiji from 1999 until Swamiji's Mahasamadhi.

The founding team brings more than 25 years of experience in dharmic, social and humanitarian work.
